I am the mother of two grown children, a son and daughter, both in their twenties. I have a great love for children and find it is a beautiful thing to look at life through a child's eyes. They are excited about living and find happiness and fun in the smallest of things. I guess that explains why I was the neighborhood mom while my children were growing up. I always opened up my home to the neighborhood children and enjoyed teaching and tending to them. I have also been a state certified childcare provider and ran a home based daycare for a year. At that time I cared for an adorable baby boy from the time he was three months until over a year. Besides giving him alot of tender loving care, I would keep him in a daily routine of eating, playtime and nap time. I believe adhering Read more to a daily routine works best for children of that age especially. I would read and sing to him, play with age appropriate toys and take him outside for walks. I also cared for a 10 year old girl after school and a number of my friends children of various ages in the summertime. I always made sure they got plenty of physical activity outside and kept them busy indoors with games, puzzles, arts and crafts and reading.
