I am enthusiastic about the prospect of providing childcare support to one or more families in my area. I am confident in my ability to care for four or more children, thanks to my extensive classroom teaching experience. At the same time, I would be perfectly content to focus my care-giving attention on just one child! I offer a wide-range of artistic, language and physical-activity enrichment activities for children of any age - from yoga, calligraphy, hiking and biking to decoupage. But I will happily provide all necessary carpooling, homework, dish washing, cooking, clothes washing and pet-feeding/walking help! I began my professional English teaching experience in South America. Upon returning to the U.S., I earned my college degree in bilingual education, Spanish and anthropology from Mount Holyoke College, one of the country's leading colleges for women. After receiving certification as Bilingual and ESL Teacher, I taught all subjects in Spanish Read more and English at public, elementary schools in the Boston area - both in my own classroom and as substitute teacher. But, my greatest love is doing arts, crafts and creative writing projects with children! Hiking follows close behind. Since then, I have worked as a sales professional in education and library 'markets', most notably as advertising sales 'rep' for 22 years at School Library Journal . At present, I am part-time business manager for the Lakeland Youth Symphony while acting as volunteer fundraiser, grant writer, tutor for the Community Development Corporation’s Cedar Hill After School Program at St. John’s Church in Boonton. My work schedule is flexible. I can accommodate almost any hours the family needs – day and/or evening. I look forward to discussing your children's needs for an at-home caretaker!
