As someone who majored in English Education at Montclair State University, I have a love both for children and education. I worked in an after school program with K through 4th graders in my undergrad years, and taught second grade briefly upon graduating at a classical Christian school. The school was not a good fit for me ideologically, because of the rigidity of the program and because I disagreed with how the children were treated. Nevertheless, it taught me more about the value of tenderness where children are concerned. More recently, I have worked in the corporate world, but I'm seeking a shift in career. I have always loved children, starting as a babysitter at age 11. I worked with children as young as infant age until 6th grade. I have been certified in CPR and first aid in the past, and would be willing to become recertified if that Read more was desired. I am flexible as to what a position entails: I'm willing to clean, prepare meals, and help in other ways in addition to caring for children. Because of my background in English, I am also comfortable tutoring should that be desired. I highly value the benefit of reading, both silently and aloud, and would love to connect with a family that also values this aspect of education. I have one child of my own, and the ideal position for me would be one where I could combine caring for your children and my own. I believe children thrive on love. They should be treated with compassion even in the midst of mistakes, even while being taught how to avoid those mistakes in the future.
