My name is Samantha Lyons and I'm currently a junior at the University of South Carolina. My major is Early Childhood Education, as I aspire to be an early childhood teacher one day. I am the oldest of four. There's 6 of us total in my family including my mother and father. I have a dog named Zuma. My family has lived in Far Hills, New Jersey since I was born. I have grown up babysitting for my younger siblings, my cousins and for other families. I have been a nanny for 6 different families. I nannied for a fifth grade girl and drove her around to her sport practices after school during my junior year of high school. I nannied for a third grade girl for an entire summer going into my senior year of high school. I nannied for a first grade boy and a fourth grade girl everyday after school during my senior year of high school. I picked them up from school and took care of them, cooked them meals, and helped them with their homework until their parents got home from work. I nannied a first grade girl and a fourth grade girl twice a week after school during my sophomore year of college. I picked them up from school, drove them to piano and chorus lessons, cooked meals for them and helped them complete their homework until their parents get home from work. I also had a job at the local YMCA Kidz Korner in New Jersey as a representative and I babysat children of all ages, including infants and children with disabilities, while their parents could work out or do any activities in the facility. I was also responsible for cleaning the area and helping kids with their homework. I had that job for about two years before I left for college. I am comfortable tutoring children, as I aspire to be a teacher one day and help children that I babysit with their homework, and I am comfortable with cleaning and cooking meals, as I do both of those things whenever I nanny. I would be willing to teach children English too, as I was a live-in au pair with a host family in Spain last summer. I nannied for a first grader and taught her English. I got a job to work at the local downtown church nursery and I work at a Child Development Center as a teacher for a 4 year-old room this year. I am patient and love to work with children of all ages.
