Hi! My name is Allison and I am a recent graduate of Sarah Lawrence College with 6 years of babysitting and nannying experience. I am moving to the UWS at the end of June and am looking to start working immediately. I am looking to work 25-35 hours per week and I am open to both working on the books and for guaranteed hours. My work experience includes 6 years babysitting for children from ages 2 months-13 years of age as well as babysitting for up to four children at a time (including twins). I have experience working with a young woman who has severe physical and mental disabilities (she is also wheelchair-bound) as well as working as the primary babysitter for 12 year old twin girls during 3 school years. I also babysat for a toddler with developmental and physical delays due to her prematurity for over a year, Read more and was a nanny to a family of three girls (6, 3, and 6 months) for a full summer. I love animals and would have no problem taking care of your pet as well (I have 2 dogs of my own). When working with kids, I love anything hands on. Coloring, play-doh (as long as we play on newspaper for easy clean up), painting, etc. as well as going on the swings, playing hide and go seek and freeze dance! I find that nothing helps a kid go to sleep like running all of the energy out of them for a good night's rest. I firmly believe in playing nice and I think structure and rules are very important to a child's development, but overall, I am a very laid back person who allows kids to have fun and use their big imagination that I wish I still had! Being a childcare provider for 6 years, a big sister to 2 siblings, and the eldest cousin in my family, I have always felt that kids are truly my passion. I take great pride taking care of children and have always formed a strong, irreplaceable bond with the families I have worked for in the past. I am more than willing to provide references if needed. I have no problem helping your children with their homework and tutoring them as well. I am especially competent in the sciences and also took ten years of Spanish as well as ten years of violin. I am also very familiar with the Kumon learning center if your children happen to be going there.
