I am 26 years old and have had Nanny experience since I was 16. The first family I nannied for was a family of 4 children. The oldest was 8 when I started with them. The youngest was a newborn! I actually watched the 3 oldest children while he was being born! I worked with this family for about 1.5 years, so I got to see a lot of growth, and work with a lot of different childhood stages ranging from newborn and little cruisers to older children who needed help with homework. One family that I babysat for occasionally hired me as a nanny part-time for the summer. The mother even found other families in her neighborhood for me to nanny to make the job full-time for me, as I had been looking for full-time. With these families I had varying responsibilities from errands and housework to changing diapers, Read more playtime, and taking the children to activities. I also have experience working at a daycare with at-risk children, which consisted of about 2 years. This was a unique opportunity that really helped me to develop patience when working with children coming from different backgrounds. I am comfortable working with children with autism, anger issues, and social/emotional issues. I am also a stay at home mother. I have a 15 month old daughter, so I've experienced it all. I have experience babysitting multiple children while I also am watching my daughter. My daughter is very social and loves interacting with other children and would make a great playmate for any child. Through my experience with childcare, I have learned that children need attention. As a caretaker, I would give your child all the attention that they need. I love getting on the floor and playing with them. I love reading books to children. I love thinking of new, engaging activities for them that build their fine and gross motor skills. I love guiding children in the right direction with positive reinforcement and praise where it is deserved. Children are very special to me and I love to help them feel validated and important. Especially having a child of my own now, I know what kind of a care a mother is looking for. A mother (or father) wants the absolute best for her (or his) child. She wants to know that her child is being well looked after by somebody trustworthy, competent, and by somebody who has her child's best interest at heart. I have left my daughter with babysitters before and these are the feelings I share. I promise that I would be that kind of caretaker for your child.
