Thank you for taking the time of review my experience in childcare! I have 12 years of experience ranging from newborn to tutoring and mentoring special needs teenagers. My younger brother has a learning disability and is on the spectrum so I took on the responsibility to get him through high school and to help him grow and flourish in society. He successfully graduated in 2016 at the age of 20 and now has a full-time job. The role of being my brother's mentor and tutor helped me to grow my compassion, patience, determination, empathy and communication. I had to continually expand my knowledge of Autism and was always researching techniques for teaching someone with a learning disability. This allowed me to gain the skills needed to care for children with special needs such as cognitive impairment and autism, ADHD, panic disorder, sensory processing disorder, and aggressive behavior. I also Read more have ample experience with newborns and toddlers. My husband is a portrait artist and runs his business from home, which has allowed me to return to school to finish my degree while Wolfgang stays home with him. I taught my son and my nephews baby sign language, which allowed them to communicate to us their wants and needs before they could speak. I potty trained my son and both of my nephews as well. This past year, I was a nanny to two families with toddlers. One had a two year old girl and the second had a ten month old. The reason I am currently back on Sittercity is because one of my families is moving and the second found out she is pregnant and decided to quit her job to stay at home. This of course was incredibly sad for me but I am excited for their new adventures and am looking forward to starting one of my own with a new family! Before moving to Las Vegas, I lived in Virginia beach was a mommy's helper and family manager for two families where I gained five years of experience. Before VA Beach, I had six years of experience babysitting and tutoring in West Virginia. I have given voice and piano lessons for the past five years, as I went to Alderson-Broaddus College to participate in their excellent music program. When I nanny for a family, it never feels like work and it is truly something I enjoy. I believe that helping children to learn and grow is one of the most important roles a person can take on. I am always happy when someone asks me what I do for work because I take pride in being able to tell them I am a nanny!
