I have been working with children for 8 years now. I have been everything from an in home care provider, nanny, tutor to a special education teachers aid and lead teacher. I absolutely love working with children of all ages and am very passionate about what I do. I have worked in the special education field for almost 6 years and have been working with kids since I was 13. I am currently a senior at the University of Nevada, Reno getting my degree in Special Education with a minor in developmental Disabilities. I am (almost) fluent in American Sign Language I was a babysitter for a 4 year old with Down Syndrome over the summers I was an in-home teacher/provider for a 5 year old with a disability where I built and implemented his curriculum. I love every child that I get the opportunity to work with. I feel children learn through play and are led by example! I have never gotten complaints from any of the parents that I have worked for and have been told nothing but good things! (I am always willing to give references) Although I am only 21, I like to think my age gives me the chance to play with the children with a lot of fun energy! I am willing to do everything from playing dress up and making cookies to working on developmental growth! Professional Profile I have worked at a Special Education Preschool as a teacher’s aide for four summers where I worked with young children ages 3-5 with mild to severe intellectual, emotional and physical disabilities. As an aide I worked with the children on daily goals, basic and social skills and some physical activities such as swimming. I was a short term substitute at Little Wonders Daycare in Grass Valley, California where I helped provide care for children ages 0-5. In high school, I tutored two freshman boys with autism. I frequently babysat/nanny for a 4 year old with down syndrome this summer. I worked as an in-home teacher/tutor for a young boy with a disability. I created and implemented his curriculum. I did daily life skills tasked and schooling with him.
