I’m a teacher and sitter who loves to make learning exciting and encourage children to grow. I’m kind, and fair, and loving, but also can set boundaries. Knowing that children are learning every moment, I give rewards to motivate positive behavior. My favorite activities are playing pretend, singing, dancing, and stories, but my favorite is letting the kids decide! It’s fun to explore their interests and discover what they love to do. My strength is to bring out their creativity and celebrate their accomplishments. I like to involve parents in this part, ie: showing off something we learned or worked on, or reiterating some exceptional behavior. From date-nights to school pick-up, to night routines, to weekend time, I’ve done it all. I have over 6 years of babysitting experience, plus 2 years of teaching experience. I’ve had a range of jobs from sporadic to regular, watching kids of all ages Read more from infants to 12-year-olds. I grew super close with one family in particular looking after their kids aged 8 (special needs), 7, 5, and 2 (after 5 years of working with them). The special needs child and I worked on certain goals for independence, including bathroom help and speech improvement. I took them all to activities and appointments, to the library, and to the park. We did homework time, playtime, dinner time, bath time, and bedtime! It was super rewarding to become part of their family. Later on I became a homeroom teacher, instructing 25 students at a time, aged 6-11 in the areas of Math, Science, and Language Arts.
