At the age of 13 years old, I started babysitting by watching my cousins after school until their parents would come home from work. I also took care of my oldest sister's newborn baby girl until she was 2 years old. She was adorable and a joy to care for. I helped my aunt in her in-home day care for two and a half years. All the children I shared caring for, I grew attached to as if they were my very own children. Their parents and I had developed very good relationships. I had another babysitting job, taking care of three lovely children who I grew fond of: twins (boy and girl), ages 1 1/2 years old, and their older brother, 7 years old, who had special needs. It was a challenge at first, but I eventually adjusted to taking care of him. I had another babysitting job caring Read more for two children: a little girl, 3 years old, and boy, 1 1/2 years old; and their mother had another on the way. I briefly took care of twin boy and girl which were 2 1/2 years old. Both were special needs children. The last babysitting job I did, I had the opportunity to care for six foster care children at one time and their age ranges were from 1 to 7 years old. Taking care of all six at once was a great challenge of my babysitting skills and my patience. I eventually developed a good relationship with each child. All those jobs were live-in. My duties entailed bathing, dressing and feeding the children before they left for school. Their mother would take them to school and pick them up from school. I would pick them up from school if their mother had gone out to run errands and they would be running late. I prepared and served meals, washed dished, supervised homework and did in-house activities. My primary goal was to make sure that each child entrusted in my care, would be safe, happy, loved, comfortable as to each child's uniqueness in character, personality and ability; while allowing them to have fun with each other. I am loving, caring, honest, reliable and most importantly, I love what I do.

Melissa has worked for my father for almost 6 months. She is a very caring and dedicated caregiver. She is extremely reliable and flexible. She has been in several urgent/emergent situations with my Dad and handle them like a pro. My father has benefited greatly from her care and attention and I have benefited greatly being able to rest easier knowing that if there is a problem Melissa will handle it calmly and promptly.
