I've been babysitting for 20 years and consider myself a childcare professional, with ample experience from infant to teen. I am college-educated and a former elementary school teacher. I have a Master’s degree in Therapy, so I also bring formal education in child development; as well as a specialization in working with children with special needs, behavioral issues, and other unique challenges. I've also taught theater and dance to kids of all ages, so I have lots of fun and creative activities in my arsenal. When caring for your children, I am extremely mindful and responsible. My counseling training allows me to be very sensitive to a child’s individual needs; and I know how to keep them engaged, with a great deal of patience and flexibility. I approach childcare with compassion and safety first. In the age of COVID-19, I’ve been living alone, social distancing, and avoiding public transit. I Read more contracted the virus in March and tested positive for antibodies as recently as August. I’m looking for something 1-2 days a week that I can walk to from my home in Astoria, Queens.
