I have been a mother for 18 years, a nurse for 15 and the oldest of four children even longer. I am looking to nanny as I've decided that after 15 years in nursing, I needed a change. As much as I love taking care of people, a lot of times it's a sad atmosphere. I could not think of a happier job than one that is centered around children. I love children and I have 3 daughters of my own that require a lot less of my time now that they are older. I decided that I'm not yet ready to stop doing the fun day to day care of a young child or children. I love taking kids outside to see what kind of adventures we can have. Finding new and different playgrounds to explore, day hikes, frog catching, swimming, picnics,fishing, going to the zoo, you name it Read more and that is what filled our days when my children were small. I loved it as much as they did. I am a proponent of imaginary play over constant use of electronics. Because I am also a licensed nurse, I excel at recognizing danger and remaining calm. I am CPR certified for both children and adults and I have completed 2 years of training in conscious discipline for the young child which means that I am trained to keep any correction of a child iage appropriate and is used only to teach, not punish. I have always had a lot of patience and I'm compassionate as well.
