Hi, I became a nanny a year and a half ago because I needed a change and love babies and young children. For the past year and a half I have been a nanny in Brooktondale, NY for wonderful 2 year old twins. It has been the most fun and rewarding experience of my career. Before working as a nanny, I worked at Newark Valley Elementary School for 10 years. The first 7 years were spent as a special education aide where I contributed to the learning program of many students. Then, I was transferred to a position as a behavioral specialist. I worked closely with the school psychologist helping to create behavior and academic plans for many students. I worked very closely with all of the teachers and they called upon me often to calm a child or help them catch up on incomplete assignments. During a lay-off in 2006, I worked at the Franciska Rackers Center as an aide for two autistic children. I found that to be very challenging and yet very rewarding. Besides my professional experience, I am the mother of 3 boys. My oldest son is 28, middle 26, and youngest just turned 18 and will graduate from Newark Valley High School this year. I am also the grandmother of an absolutely beautiful 22 month old girl. She is so much fun! I found being a nanny very interesting and loved teaching and providing the twins with the love and care that every child deserves. I have excellent references that can be provided from the special ed. teacher, psychologist, and mother of the twins that I cared for. Please consider me for any position working with infants and/or young children as I really feel like I was born to work with this age group and have so much love and patience to give.
