Hello Parents! My name is Claudia. I am a college student majoring in Early Childhood Education. I have always loved babies and working with children. I love reading books to them, singing, and doing arts and crafts, is my favorite activity to do with them since I am very creative myself. Other things I enjoy doing besides working with children is writing in my journal, learning new healthy recipes/creating them, and biking by the river. The first job I obtained from Sittercity was to babysit for a family with 4 children. Infant, toddler, 5 and 8 years old. They were truly a blessing to me. I also worked at a Daycare. I helped care for infants and toddlers during the morning. Then at 2 pm, I used to pick up the afterschool kids to bring to the daycare and have them with me until 7 pm. I helped them with Read more homework and planned activities and games for them. At the end of the day, I was the last one to leave and the one to close the Daycare. In the Summer of 2016, I became the Arts and Crafts Director for ages 4-15 years old at a camp located in Pennsylvania. I had to plan different crafts/projects for each group of children that came to my station. I also kept an inventory of all my supplies, re-ordered supplies, etc. The mornings were my favorite time because the whole team used to meet with all the children to break the ice, sing songs, dance, do skits, and all that fun stuff we love to do with children. Lastly, I want to share about my internship as a student-teacher. This internship was a requirement before my college graduation. I volunteered at an elementary school in the Bronx assisting Ms. Katz with her 1st-grade classroom. I worked closely with Spanish speaking students who didn't know English that well. I also read books to the whole class, I gave spelling quizzes, graded exams and helped during school trips.
