I should note that I also work for American Airlines at the Aspen airport and am happy to show my credentials. I had to go through fingerprint background check and go through regular drug testing. In the beginning of my college studies I worked part time at a nursery in an athletic club. The area had two rooms that were attached together. We had kids ranging in age from infants to 14 year olds. For the older kids there was a: rock climbing wall, foosball table, games, and books to play with. The younger children had a bouncy maze jungle gym with a ball pit (we had surefire ways to extract disheveled toddlers who regretted their plunge:) ). Across the hall from the play room there was a basket ball court where we: rode on scooters, played basketball (attempted), played parachute games, and more! Since the parents would always check Read more in and out there children, or stop by mid work out, the nursery staff would maintain close relationships with the parents. From this I would get asked numerous times if I could babysit, or in one case, to nanny for the summer. Since this time at River Valley Athletic Club I have been blessed to have 2 nephews. I have spent countless hours with them. I have learned the language of children in part through my Mother, who I call the baby whisperer. It's amazing how children with gravitate to her. After moving from Minnesota to New York I have begun to realize that the torch has been passed on to me. I love children of all ages. Some values that I have that would be beneficial to you are: I am nutritionally health conscientious, I choose active activities over passive ones, I love museums, I love nature and the outdoors, I love history & economics. I like to listen to a wide variety of music: classical, French, reggae, Spanish guitar, ect. I'm an avid public radio listener as well. I also love to draw and have taught numerous children the basics of this art. I tell you these tidbits about myself so that you can know how I would potentially enrich you child's life. There's a lot for kids to learn in this world- learning can either be fun and imaginative or daunting. There are many languages to know besides the ones we speak.
