Hello, my name is LeAnna Ficano, and I am excited to be applying for a nanny position with your family. I have been working with children for about sixteen years. In 2001, I worked as an intern for Westside Dance Project in New York City, where I assisted professional dance instructors with children’s tap and ballet lessons. This experience opened me to the world of teaching children and being a part of their educational process. From spring 2007 until November 2016, I worked for the New York City Department of Education. I started working for the N.Y.C. DOE as a substitute paraprofessional (teaching assistant), and later became a substitute teacher, and then a full time teacher. I currently hold my New York State teaching certification in both Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6). I am currently looking for a job that would allow me work with children, while taking one or two science classes a semester. I am responsible, reliable, and dependable. As your nanny, my number one priority is to keep your child happy and safe. I am very attentive and will always keep a watchful eye on your child. I am currently in the process of getting certified in CPR and First Aid. I am good at helping them follow rules and encouraging them to clean up after themselves while I help them do so. I am a very creative person. I have experience playing guitar, clarinet, drums, and working in dance and theater. I am also very knowledgeable in mathematics and science. In addition, I can cook all different types of food. If allowed by the family, I would schedule fun outings to parks, gardens, zoos, and museums so your child can see their community and all it has to offer them. I have a New York State Driver’s License and a vehicle. I would be a terrific nanny for your child. I enjoy working with children and I am a great caretaker.
