My 6 years in the field of childcare has been productive and rewarding. My nanny experience includes infants, toddlers and school age clients. Since I strive to be the best in my field, I constantly brush up on my skills. My certification in CPR and First Aid training give me the confidence to know that I am well prepared to handle an emergency, if one should emerge. Also, I possess New York State training in Health and Safety of children. This awareness makes me capable of taking safety measures to prevent children from being hurt in a fall or reduce their exposure to danger while they are in my care. Part of my job is to assess that a child is free from hazardous situations and in good hands. My background is in administrative work with the Health and Hospitals Corporation. The decision to pursue my real passion of work with children led me to enroll in undergraduate studies and pursue a degree in Early Education. Currently, I study many disciplines of children studies, their needs, evolution, disabilities and I explore the skills necessary to be an integral part of their lives. My work with children throughout the years has offered me the best opportunity to do what I enjoy and become better at what I am most passionate about. I apply my schoolwork instruction to my job, when I am with a child. My job will be to help develop and evolve skills in speech, motor skills, homework help, reading and basic math. In my approach, I keep children proactive with a variety of activities that boost learning: story time, listening to music, coloring, drawing, board games, or puzzle play. Stimulating a child will boost his or her learning and the child will gain self-confidence. Additionally, regardless of the child's age, I encourage speech, verbal and non verbal communication, good manners and vocabulary building. I am here on Sittercity to pursue my labor of love.
