Hi there! My name is Tia and I'm originally from Melbourne in Australia. I have a background in medical research but have been babysitting for as long as I can remember, it pretty much put me through college. I love, love, love kids and spent about 18 months volunteering at an orphanage in Vietnam; taking care of children of all ages but spending most of my time in the newborn and toddler wards. I am also trained in children's CPR, first aid and have had experience in sleep training and potty training. After winning the green card lottery, which allows me to work and live in the U.S., I moved over last year and have spent that time looking after a young girl in Clinton Hill - since she was 6 months of age until now, almost 2 years old. Unfortunately the family is moving to LA soon so I Read more am on the lookout for a new family to help out and have fun with! I am responsible, kind and loving but firm when I need to be. That's always followed up with a laugh and a cuddle though! My favourite things to do with kids is take them on adventures to the zoo or museums, to get outdoors and see nature and run around, and I am very involved in active play. I also love to impart my love of books and get them reading and imagining! Working very closely with my current family and their little girl, I am very aware of child developmental stages and the patience and love needed for those leaps and growth spurts!
