With 14 years of experience in a Early Childhood Center, I have met many families that I have cared for their children not only in the classroom setting but also outside as personal babysitter and nanny. The daycare setting has taught me not only the importance of structure to young children's days but also the flexibility within that structure. Children learn best through play. Within that play, there is time for social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. I believe strongly in providing high-quality care that promotes a foundation for later learning. After moving to New York City in August, I became the head teacher at a private preschool in Tribeca. Working for this school taught me priceless information about the New York education system and what families and schools expect out of the early childcare experiences. While working for families in their homes, I have done light housework- all pertaining to the children- driven the children to different lessons and appointments, helped to arrange play dates, watched the family pet while the family was on vacation, arranged fun activities and outings, all while keeping the children safe, problem-solving as situations arise, and great communication with the parents. I have my BA in International Multicultural Studies with a minor in Art. I love traveling, history, culture, and art projects. I am currently going to school to obtain my Masters in Early Childhood Education. I lived in Minnesota and recently moved to New York. I have left the country 11 times to visit different cultures around the world and I have no problem reading a map and figuring out transportation. I look forward to starting a new chapter in my life and I am excited to be a part of a loving family who values high-quality care for their children. I swim, speak basic Spanish, and have my driver's license. I would love to travel with the family.
