Meet William

• Comfortable with pets

As a camp counselor for five years and someone who has always loved working with children, I could not be more excited about the opportunity to continue working in this field. I have always loved teaching the things I am passionate about to others, whether that is at a local chess club for elementary school children or as a counselor for boys ages 8-15 for 5 years. I get very excited about what I love, and sharing it with other people who feel that way too is an amazing way to create something fun together. While at camp, and also while teaching teenage actors at The Theatre Arts Center, my focus was on providing an enriching and fun environment, while also helping them to grow in the areas that they were interested in. I ran the climbing wall, taught tennis and track, and spent time in the cabin every day Read more playing their favorite card games and reading to my campers. I helped to lead hiking trips up Mt. Washington, teaching campers how to keep going when they are tired, and also how to stay safe when the weather turns bad. I handled many cases of homesickness, nightmares, illness, and bedwetting, comforting younger children so that they knew they weren’t alone, and that every kid, and even many adults, feel scared and sad sometimes. I have just recently graduated from Colby College with a degree in both Psychology and Theater. Much of my study in psychology was focused on how we learn, and this plays a vital role in my approach to childcare. I want to help kids grow and learn the way that best suits their needs, and am perfectly placed to help them study and do their homework. I also have recently completed CPR training and so am ready for any emergency that might arise.
