I am a determined individual who is interested in working with children as a medical professional. I have worked with children from newborn to 18 years of age. I have finished my medical school coursework and clinical rotations, and am currently applying for residency (i.e. doctor-in-training programs). I am a go-getter and like a good challenge. Although, I have not been a nanny professionally, I have been the unpaid nanny for my nephew and several of my younger cousins since I was 16 years old. With the newborns, I bottle-fed them, changed their diapers/clothes, did their laundry, bathed them, assisted with helping them learn developmental milestones (i.e. sitting up, grasping, tracking objects), and sleep-trained them. With the older ones, I helped them with homework, brought them to their many activities, planned outings, created crafts and games for them to do, and found new ways of making learning fun. I learned Read more skills such as time management, problem solving, decision-making, and communication, which came in handy for later roles. As a professional, I have worked as a camp counselor, clinical coordinator, tutor, mentor, and have worked in the NICU and pediatric settings for over ten years and during medical school, working with ill and healthy youngsters.
