For six years I was a Special Education Teacher Assistant for United Community Service Inc. in an integrated classroom setting at Bushwick United Head Start. I have gained extensive knowledge in the methods to help special needs children fully participate in all aspects of the classroom while individual needs are met. I enjoyed teaching and helping children build confidence in their ability to achieve, both academically and socially while having lots of creative fun. Learning and teaching will always take place when caring for a child during playtime, reading time, participating in household chores or activities, crafts, dance and music.
