Hi! My name is Carla-Moon. I have had a passion for working with children for over 15 years! I strive to provide safe, fun, compassionate, and educational play! I like to have a conscious effort in identifying and following each child's natural curiosities and organic gifts in order to foster opportunities of learning and empowerment that is appropriate to their cognitive age and maturity. I encourage playing outside as much as I can! I love to read, sing, tell stories, dance, be silly, play along with fantacy play, crafts, make up games, foster scavenger hunts; I encourage any and all activities that will safely engage fine and gross motor skill development as well as supporting social, communication, and emotional intelligence skills. I have over 15 years of experience working with children and families in different environments. I have worked at a traditional preschool incorporating Piajet learning through play. I have Read more expierince with several families who have twins. I have been a nanny-share professional for two families for the last two years watching three children 10months-5 years old. I have also been a part-time outdoor educator with Primitive Pursuits in Ithaca NY the last 4 years. I recently helped co-found a place-based preschool called Breathe (Bravelyreturntotheearth.org) that is launching March 2018. I hope to nurture long lasting relationships with families that I will grow to learn and love in my time as their nanny. I strive to work as an extended community member of the family. To me that means embodying a mentorship role for your children, providing my unique perspectives while also harmonizing with your family's norms and values. I just moved to Harford Mills NY to begin a homesteading and farm apprenticeship and look forward to sharing my ongoning educational connection with the earth, with your family. I have additional experience and offer services upon request: parent support, education, and counseling, I am a certified Doula and specialize in post partum services.
