Hello! My name is Alvina, I'm 36, born and raised in Paris, France from a French/Italian family. At a really young age, I started showing interest in working with children. I am caring, kind hearted, compassionate, nurturing individual. My very first paid experience with kids started as a counselor for various winter/summer/spring camps during school breaks when I was still a student. I also worked as a nanny (part time) for a Parisian family for 2 years. When I was 23, I got married, moved to the US and became a military wife. I lived in Florida, Germany, and in 2007, I moved to North Carolina where I started my career as an assistant teacher for a child development center in Fort Bragg (US Army base) Working with kids for so many years, I have come to understand that children come into the world with a blank slate. I feel my responsibility as a caregiver is to provide children with the best possible education, knowledge, and choices so they are able to grow to their maximum potential. I believe that children should be given the ability to become independent individuals by setting limits with positive discipline, acts of kindness, and encouragement. I enjoy being surrounded by children because of their imagination, innocence, and creativity. I am glad I had the opportunity to live a military life as I got to travel often and met people from all around the world. On my free time, I like to spend time with family and friends, be outdoors, read a good book, watch forein movies, practice meditation, travel and love to learn about different cultures. I think NYC is great for that!
