My name is Simone Archibald and I have been a nanny for over 15 years. I have excellent references from the long term families that I have worked for and prefer to work with families from when their first child is born until their youngest goes to preschool. I provide a supportive, loving and caring environment for children, engaging them in fun (but safe!) activities and enabling them to thrive and develop at their own pace. My experience has taught me how to communicate with families effectively and I am always respectful of the parents wishes. Newborn/Infant: - Establish eating/playing/sleeping routine (per parents preference) - Infant care including umbilical cord Read more care, bathing, swaddling - Sleep training/nap training - Breastfeeding support/introduction of bottles/ongoing breastfeeding support when Mom returns to work - Weaning/introduction of solids - Language development through talking and singing to the baby - Visual stimulation with books, colors, pictures - Baby socialization through classes/little play dates Toddler: - Support gross motor and fine motor skills development (learning to walk/picking up small objects - Encourage verbal development through conversations and songs - Work on colors, shapes, sorting, puzzles - Socialization with other toddlers through trips to the park, museum, play dates - Cook nutritionally balanced meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) - Begin identifying letters, numbers, counting, learning name, saying please and thank you - Potty training (working with parents) - Educational trips - museum, zoo, library Pre-Kindergarten: - Beginning reader books, expanding number recognition and higher number counting - Continued social and emotional development through playdates - Continued educational trips - Drop off and pick up from preschool (as appropriate), help with preschool projects I believe that every child has a unique personality and talents and love working with families on encouraging their child to develop to be happy, confident and independent as they feel valued and appreciated.
