I am a child educator that is hoping to work in the private, more familiar environment of a home, rather than a classroom. I have extensive childcare experience since high school. I was a babysitter through high school and undergraduate school. I went to graduate school and learned all about the science behind child psychology and child development. I did field work for literacy and spacial education with children ranging from pre-school up through 6th grade. My field work was all under the supervision of my professors at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. The college was NCATE accredited, which means the institution met very rigorous standards for their education program. All of my professors held doctorates in the field of education. I did my student teaching in a 1st grade classroom, and a 6th grade classroom. I was supervised by my mentor, and the regular classroom teachers, as Read more well as the building administrators, and of course the Education Division at the college. I was certified by the state of New York in both Elementary Education and Special Education, in 2007. I was a 5th and 6th grade teacher at a private school in Hopewell Junction, NY for 3 years. I also did many substitute teacher positions while still in college. In 2010 my alma mater invited me back to teach 2nd and 3rd year Education students, a Child Psychology Course. I supervised field work observation hours both semesters of that academic year, for my undergraduate students.
