Hello! Thank you visiting my profile. My name is Jaime, and I’m really excited about the possibility of working with you and your family. I just graduated from NYU in May 2015, where I studied Comparative Literature, French Literature, and Creative Writing. All throughout college, I babysat for families in NYC and abroad. My freshman year, when I studied abroad in Paris, I was a weekly babysitter for a French family with two children, ages two and five. After my academic year in Paris was over, I was an au pair for another French family for two months. I lived with the family, and took care of a five-year-old boy, who I took to school, watched in the evenings, and served as something of a big sister! When I returned to NYC to complete my studies, I once again began babysitting. Since I returned to NYC in 2012, I have Read more been babysitting for a family downtown. I have watched a lovely three-year-old girl grow into an even lovelier six-year-old, and took on responsibilities for the recently-arrived baby, who I began watching regularly when she was five months old. My responsibilities have ranged from school pick-up, drop-off, meal-time, bottle-feeding, and more. I love taking the kids to the park, reading, doing arts and crafts, or even dancing around to music. I am also able to tutor and provide homework help. I have continued to babysit over the years not only because it is a wonderful and flexible job, but also because it has given me the opportunity to connect with families in my home-away-from-home, New York City. I love making the kids I babysit laugh and treating and encouraging them to explore their creativity! A little more about me: after college, I completed a 3-month bike trip across the United States! I have since held internships and fellowships at magazines and online publications, and completed freelance writing. I love adventure, meeting new people and getting to new cultures and places. My interests include reading, writing, learning new languages, trying new recipes, and exploring the city. English is my first language, but I’ve studied French since sixth grade all the way until the end of college. I’ve also recently started studying Spanish.
