I have spent the last two semesters in practicum at Elementary Schools, both in public and private schools. It has been such a positive experience for me being in the classroom, working in a variety of schools and being a part of this community of educators. My years of experience both in the classroom setting as a student and teacher have allowed me to grow and develop my teaching strategies. My three years as an education major have put me in a position to manage a classroom and be an effective instructor. This has been demonstrated in my participation as a practicum student. With the knowledge I have gained in the classroom, I have been able to collaboratively work with my cooperating teacher to create lesson plans, assess students, participate in parent conferences as well as share classroom responsibilities. This experience has been in third and fourth grade.
