I spent 1 year as a live-in baby-sitter for a 10-year-old boy on the Autism Spectrum. Additionally I cared for autistic twins, one high functioning, the other emerging verbal. I've spent 6 summers as an overnight camp counselor, for ages 8 - 15, including one summer as a Unit Head, where I was responsible for all of the overnight "junior" campers, counselors in training, cabin counselors, and communication with parents. Additionally, I've spent the last five years living in community with children from newborns to 12 years old and have been daily involved in their lives and their care. I feel very comfortable with large groups of children, including groups of mixed ages and abilities. I am excellent with special needs children and with children with challenging behaviors. I love to cook and clean and am very comfortable with pets.
