I have years of experience as a nanny and a montessori daycare worker including certificates in New York State Office of Children and Family Services Early Childhood Education and Training Program. In addition to two full-time nanny positions, I have worked as a part-time babysitter for several families during my high school days. Maya had accepted our offer for after-school babysitting. Three days before the first day of school, she texted (TEXTED!) us to say she had accepted another position, leaving us in a bind with no after-school care. She did not attempt to speak to us before accepting the other position, but when we did speak to her after receiving her text, she said she was open to negotiating. We declined, as we didn't want to have her abandon another family as she did ours. She seemed very nice and was on time for her interview and orientation meeting, but this was very unprofessional and discourteous. I hope she provides more thoughtful care to the family who hired her.
