Meet Kaley

As long as I can remember, there has been nothing that I have enjoyed more than caring for children. I have had many years of experience babysitting for neighbors, nephews, and more recently those who hired me to provide afterschool care here in New York City. I have taken care of newborn babies and provided daily summer care for upper elementary age children. I am a recent graduate of Pace University with a degree in Biology. I will be going back to school in the Fall to complete my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and eventually I want to be a Nurse Practitioner. I am looking for as many hours a work as possible now and through the summer, and in the fall I will continue to be available for part time childcare. In addition to my babysitting experience, I also worked as a certified gymnastics coach at a local Read more YMCA for three years. A little more about me personally... I was born in Cambodia and adopted as a baby. I grew up near Pittsburgh but came to NYC to attend college almost 5 years ago. I am quiet and soft spoken by nature, but I let the children for whom I care for know that I am serious. Growing up with a brother with severe ADD and learning disorders, I learned to be very patient and have experienced firsthand the challenges of caring for special needs children. I am active and enjoy playing sports with children. I really enjoy crafts and table games. I am well equipped to help children with their homework. I am capable and confident moving about the city and can safely deliver your children to activities or school. Since graduation I have moved to the Upper West Side, but during college I lived in Brooklyn Heights and the Lower Manhattan so those are v ery familiar areas to me. I have not had much experience with housekeeping and cooking but I am willing to try, and I usually can accomplish anything that I set out to do. I love dogs of all sizes and grew up taking care of dogs. I love cats, too, but they make me sneeze. I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your childcare needs. I love becoming like a Big Sister to the children for whom I care, while at the same time perhaps becoming a Little Sister to the parents who entrust their children to me.
