We had a family/business trip to NYC & were Leary of hiring someone we hadn’t met in person. We were able to FaceTime & text Laura prior to our trip. She was so open to the communication; it really put us at ease. Laura is an amazing person, warm & compassionate, easily relatable, easy to talk to, great communicator, very responsible, and plays wonderfully with our daughter, who LOVED her. We really can’t say enough about her. She is such a great human being.

We asked Laura to babysit our 3 month old on a recent evening and couldn't be happier with our decision. It was the first time leaving the baby with a babysitter so we were nervous but Laura really put us at ease with her experience, kindness, and her genuine love of childcare. She sent us updates throughout the night and we were able to enjoy our night out knowing that our baby was happy and safe. Laura was very easy to communicate with through phone/email and as new parents, we appreciated her sharing her knowledge of babies. We hope to have Laura babysit for us in the future.

We are from Toronto and hired Laura to look after our 7.5 month old while visiting NYC. She was awesome! She looked after him for a few days and one evening. She was so knowledgeable and responsible that my husband and I were instantly at ease and so fun and goofy that my baby liked her more than he likes us! We will definitely look her up next time we are in town!

We recently booked Laura to sit for us on our holiday to New York City. Before our arrival she went out of her way to communicate with us to learn all about our twin girls to make the transition to care easier for them. We were greatly impressed with her commitment to the job, even though it was only two nights of sitting, and her clear love of children. She even did research on sightseeing, restaurants and baby-friendly options for us! It was something she didn't have to do but did it to ensure we had the best possible trip. She meet the girls prior to her first official night of sitting and they instantly took to her, as did our older children. She was warm and engaging and had an approach to them that immediately set them at ease. The two nights she sat for us she sent photos and even short videos of the girls to us so we knew what they were up to and even took notes to clarify things with us afterwards. She was clearly a very professional, organised and naturally caring sitter. She went beyond our expectations and it made it so much easier for us to go out in a city on the other side of the world from our home and leave our youngest two in her capable hands. I couldn't recommend her more highly. Thank you Laura!

We've used Laura Y to sit for our daughter on many occasions - and she continues to be our go-to sitter. Laura is flexible, totally reliable and completely professional. She is great at keeping in touch - but not too much, so you can enjoy a night out! We definitely recommend Laura - you won't be disappointed.

Our family has been using Laura on and off as a babysitter for our 3 year old son for the past 6 months or so. We have absolutely no complaints about her! First of all, she is ALWAYS right on time which is very important. Also, when I ask her to babysit she always gets back to me very quickly about her availability (I can't say the same for other babysitters we have used in the past). Once she is here she does a wonderful job taking care of my son and I can trust her to bathe him, feed him, read and play with him, brush his teeth and put him to bed. My son loves her so much that he is practically pushing me out the door when she comes so he can have her all to himself! She keeps me updated with things via text messaging throughout the evening and doesn't mind if we get home too late. Just a wonderful, flexible babysitter!

Laura has been looking after my one-year-old 3 days a week for the last month or so. She is terrific! Sam adores her and is always happy to see her, and the feeling is clearly mutual. She has a warm personality, and clearly enjoys spending time with him and finding ways to engage with him in different activities, both in and out of the apartment. Laura is very conscientious and reliable. She follows my instructions, but is also comfortable taking the initiative where appropriate, within the parameters of what she knows I'm comfortable with. I very much trust her judgement, which was a big thing for me, as you never know when a sitter/nanny will have to make an important decision in an emergency. Laura does a great job of keeping me informed both during the day and when I come home at the end of the day. She also leaves the place tidy and clean. Most importantly, I feel like my son is in great hands for those times when I can't be with him. Highly recommended.

Laura is outstanding! From the minute my son sees her, he is smiling - and I am too, because I know that when I leave, he is going to be safe and happy in Laura's expert care! She is responsive to emails, calls, and text messages; she is knowledgable and offers great ideas and tips (especially as a new mom I am grateful for her expertise!); she is flexible and honest; and more than anything, she is AMAZING with my son. We feel blessed to have found her and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I was very anxious about finding someone to watch our newborn son (7 weeks old) for our first evening events out of the house, and I could not have asked for a better babysitter in Laura! From the first few minutes of our initial meeting, she put me immediately at ease, and I have enjoyed every interaction I’ve had with her since. She is the winning combination of experienced (with all ages, but especially with infants and newborns), professional (reliable, communicative, smart), and most importantly, genuinely loving towards our son (and our dog!). It is obvious that Laura approaches working with children as a passion - she is emotionally engaged, playful, caring and truly gives all of her heart. I feel blessed to have met Laura so early in our son’s life and plan on continuing to hire her for years to come!

We were so grateful to find Laura on Sittercity! She has been a wonderful gift for our occasional babysitting needs. We have a 2.5 year old son who was 2 when Laura first sat for us. He was just reaching the age when he was very particular about babysitters and generally opposed to the idea. But from the moment Laura entered the house, he responded to her as though she were Mary Poppins! She immediately engaged with him, even going so far as to join in his silly dancing/marching games - and this was during a "get-to-know-you" session! We've used Laura for many date nights in the last six months and she is our go-to sitter. She is exceedingly professional, kind, warm, funny, and responsible and I recommend her without reservation!
