I was a nanny for a year in the Netherlands. I arrived not knowing the language of the Netherlands ( dutch) and never meeting the children . After a couple of weeks - I was already melding into the role of being an older sister to them. My responsibilities included waking and preparing the children for school, playing creatively and actively with the toddler, picking the kids up from school and taking them to their various activities, and preparing dinner. I usually put the kids to bed as well if the parents werent home on time. Over the months the children really depended on me to be there to help them with their homework, read bed time stories, bathe them, and cart them to numerous play dates. Despite the fact that their was a language barrier between the children and I , it only made it more rewarding when I Read more knew that they trusted me as their care giver.

We have an 18-month-old boy whom Angelina babysat on multiple occasions since he was 6 months. She was good dealing with the baby, barring an occasional mistake (putting diapers on backwards at first, for example). We offered her a recurring job babysitting for us on Saturdays. However, after the first couple of weeks, she stopped coming. First she called in sick, which is understandable, but the next time she just didn't show up without any explanation. We tried to get in touch with her to see if this was a misunderstanding but we haven't heard back. Quite disappointed in this unreliable behavior.
