My name is Ali Benjamin. I am a 25-year-old Washington DC native who graduated from the University of Maryland in May 2014, with a degree in Communications. I am an older sister, and have been a babysitter for numerous families in throughout my community in Maryland for the past 6 years. I have sat for families with infants, toddlers, youth and teenagers. I moved to Nashville to pursue a career in education. I am currently a 5th grade English / Language Arts teacher in Southeast, Nashville. I am looking for either consistent or sporadic weekend babysitting work to supplement my full-time teaching job. I am a very active and outdoorsy type female, but I also have a passion for the arts. I love acting as well as singing and playing the piano. I have been an avid swimmer since the age of 6 and have been coaching swimming since I Read more was 15. I have coached USA swimming teams, private community swim clubs and clinics. I have worked with kids anywhere from ages 3-18. I have also been privileged enough to give swim lessons to children with special needs. I was also previously a lifeguard, a fitness specialist, a reading tutor and a summer camp counselor. This being said, I have gone through CPR and First Aid training sessions twice. I have such a passion for working with children and absolutely love doing any and all activities that will keep kids engaged and having fun. I also love teaching and am on track to pursuing a Masters degree in education leadership. I would be more than happy to help children with any homework assignments they may have. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, and driving are also entirely doable. I am very responsible and organized, so if there was any coordinating that needed to be done (i.e. - for play dates, sports practices, etc) I would definitely be able to both arrange and carry out those activities.
