I'm a freelance writer and journalist and have picked up babysitting work throughout my entire career off and on. I first started babysitting in my hometown when I was around 15 years old, and continued through college and again for a few families when I moved to Berlin. That was where I did my most consistent nannying—picking up two sisters, age 6 and 9, from their school and taking them home, to music lessons, etc. twice every week. I have also lived in Austin, TX, and while there, I worked as a childcare provider in the nursery department of a large church. It was a bit like a daycare environment, and I took care of infants, toddlers, and kids up to around 8 years old. I'm very imaginative and love to sing, dance, and play with children, but I'm also good at assisting with homework and practicing creative hobbies. I Read more have a masters degree in journalism arts and culture writing, and can help with essays, writing, creative thinking strategies, organization, and some arts activities. I'm also a former food writer and no slouch in the kitchen—I'd be happy to cook excellent meals for your kids, and if you're interested, teach them how to follow age appropriate recipes.
