Hello, My name is Zaida. I am a twenty-seven year old, New Yorker, with an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and I am a part-time creative writing and psychology major at Hunter college. In previous semesters I have completed a Child Psychology course and a Life Span Development course. I am currently employed by a family on the Upper East Side with three children. An 8 year old boy, a 3 year old girl and a 10 month old boy. My main focus is taking the 8 year old boy to and from school crosstown, organizing and supervising play dates, all household chores and laundry. I coordinate with the other nanny and switch off between the eldest and the two younger children. My reasons for becoming a nanny are simple: I love nurturing children. I am big on learning through play and love to engage and ask questions. What I've enjoyed most about being a nanny is the ability to see the world through fresh eyes, to re-read all my childhood stories, to guide and to challenge them so that they are strong in character. I believe in good manners and being rewarded when it is earned. Within the household that I am currently employed we observe clean eating, meaning a mostly vegan and vegetable based lifestyle. I, myself, am a pescetarian and delight in encouraging little ones to expand their pallet through new dishes. I am very capable in the kitchen and I feel comfortable in providing meals to fit all needs. My past experience with children includes being a dance assistant/props and costume assistant for The Hudson Guild Beacon Summer Camp Theater Production, babysitting a newborn for a family on Fire Island, as well as caring for my own nieces and nephews.
