Growing up with an autistic younger brother has allowed me to understand different types of children and their individual needs. My brother is who I thank for my patience, understanding, and love of life. Because of his special needs, I became involved in volunteering with disabled children at local schools and after-school care programs. It's definitely something I love doing and continue to be active in, no matter how busy my schedule may be. I have been babysitting since I was 16 years old, whether it was for a relative, family friends, neighbors, or a family I met through Care.com or SitterCity. I've babysat and nannied very different children from all over! When I lived in Orange County I nannied a family with two boys, ages 6 and 4 at the time. In Chicago I babysat for a family with two boys ages 6 and 10. I really enjoyed working for them and have built a great relationship with the parents and kids. We were in Chicago for a wedding in july of 2015 and we called Emily for a 12 hour babysitting job. Emily handled my 4 y/o son and my sisters two boys (ages 3 and 6) like a pro! She has lots of babysitting experience and great references. She entertained the kids, took them to the movies and the park, got them fed, got them bathed and ready for bed with no issues. We were ultra impressed with her skills and I will definitely be using her agin to watch our kids on our next visit!
