Hi, my name is Arsema, I'm 28 years old and currently living in Harlem. I was born and raised in Germany. My family is from east Africa. I'm fluent in German and English. I have 10 years of childcare experience. As soon as I began babysitting as a twelve-year-old, for family members, I knew working with children was the profession for me. What started out as incidental babysitting in my hometown outside Frankfurt, Germany became a modest Nanny job in NYC, that would become my passion. After graduating from high school, I worked as a teacher's assistant at a Jewish preschool for 12 months. After that I became an Aupair for a professional family with 3 children in NJ. For the past 5 years I have worked as a solo part-time nanny, mother's helper and a combo of both, as well as being a full-time nanny previously. I'm seeking the opportunity to both share my childcare background and also gain more experience with the right family. I choose to work in childcare because children seem to share the wonderful view of the world that I have always held. I enjoy making them happy. Nothing in this world compares to the love they give you and the joy they bring you. At heart, I am a child. Children are people and should be treated as such. They may not have much life experience or understanding but every human being has a fundamental capacity to learn and feel. I would never expect a child to respect my authority without first making it clear that I respect their humanity. I don't talk down or simplify my language for children. Their capacity to absorb new words and concepts continue to amaze me. I'm a mature minded, nurturing and happy person who will always be ready for a challenge. My priority is to ensure that the children in my care enjoy their day's in a safe, structured and supportive environment for the children to grow. I believe in honesty and good manners, and will endeavor to install these values in your children in an age appropriate manner as time passes. My strength and preference is for caring for infants and toddlers. I'm flexible, can adapt to the family routine and boundaries, good team worker who is helpful and caring.
