I started Babysitting as a way to help out family friends when I was about 13 years old (seems like a lifetime ago) and quickly became the "go to girl" for babysitting and that title has followed me throught out my life.   After finishing my MFA at the University of Delaware I spent a year touring the country performing and teaching children about Shakespeare and the language of the theater.  One of the most rewarding expereinces I have ever had came while teaching a group of kids about the play Macbeth.  During the class I used various language and movement techniques to help encourage the children to open up physically and use their body to express their thougths and ideas.... after this class one of the teachers approached me with tears in her eyes because she said she had witness one of her students (who has autism) for the Read more first time seem truly free and joyful.  That experience alone made the day worth it.   I have the good fortune to spend the past two and a half years working with an amazing family on the Upper East Side and their beautiful little girl E.  I've been caring for E since she was about 5months and have had the opportunity to witness her grow and develop phyciscally, vocally and emotionally. Currently, I work part-time with a lovely family on the UWS side and I take care of their two little boys. I recognize that all children develop at different rates and in different directions so I like to work closely with the family to discover the best environment for each child. I believe that my training in dance, yoga, and the classic theater allows me to relate to children in a different way.  I employ tools from the different areas of study to encourage physical developement and awareness.
