Hi there! I'm a 35 year old Syracuse University graduate & published playwright with EXTENSIVE nanny/sitting experience and STELLAR, verifiable references! I just moved to Chicago (Lincoln Park) from NYC, where I spent my first few years after college as a live-in nanny and then, live-in personal assistant, for several HNW/high-profile families in New York, in addition to part-time/as-needed sitting over the last 10 years (primarily Manhattan & the Hamptons in the summers). Currently, I'm interested in both regularly scheduled part-time sitting and occasional/as needed/date night sitting in the Chicago area, and I work remotely as a writer, so I have very flexible availability, as I essentially make my own schedule. I have first-aid/CPR training, a squeaky clean driving record and spotless criminal record, and am a former competitive swimmer with lifeguard training and experience teaching swimming (ages 4-10). I 'm always down to make a fort out of sheets & cushions, I love Play-Doh, and I challenge any 10 year old who thinks they know more about X-men or The Legend of Korra than I do! :P In short, my view is that if both the kids AND I aren't tired out by the end of the day, then I'm not doing my job right! I'm an EXCELLENT swimmer (former competitive swimmer with lifeguard training & exp. teaching swimming) and I love to travel, read, bike, play guitar, and ride horses. I'm also a certified museum/foreign language geek (Irish, Hebrew, and a bit of Spanish). Meggie applied for an occasional weekend sitter position that I posted and has sat for us a few times since and my son loves her! She has been wonderful with my son and is very professional as well. Meggie was great with my boys right off the bat. She asked them about what kind of legos they play with and was very knowledgeable in their kind of toys. They were so excited to show her all their treasures. Sometimes my 4 year old cries when I leave but he was so impressed by her that he didn't even care I was leaving. They only had great things to say about her the next day. I would recommend her to friends.
