Hi Families! My name is Leana Monika. I am 25 years old and have been caring for children for the last 10+ years. I started babysitting when I was 13 and have continued to do so since. I have been a full-time nanny for the last 6 years and am hoping to find a long term position with a new family soon! I also worked at a daycare center in the Hamptons for 2 years where I became very well known with all the parents because the children loved me. I still babysit for many of the families I met through the daycare. I am a very loving, caring woman and children really bring out that nurturing side of me. I find such joy in watching children grow and learn and being a part of that process really makes me love my job. I am a very upbeat, fun, creative nanny and i believe my positive energy makes kids feel right at home with me and comfortable which is very important. And while being fun and a cheerleader for my kids is a big part of my job it is equally important that I be calm, reassuring and loving when a child needs me to be. My ability to provide the security and feeling of safety for children is perhaps one of my greatest strengths. I was born in Costa Rica and Spanish is my first language. I strongly believe that being bi-lingual is such a blessing and if i can help and give that gift to anyone else, especially children, than even better! I am extremely dedicated and committed to my families and very in tune with the needs of the family as a whole as well. Being a Nanny isn't just for the children, it’s also for the parents and I enjoy being apart of that team! I have an ability to establish emotional connections with people very quickly which has allowed me to not only determine the emotional needs of the children I care for but also helps me be in tune with the needs of the family and offer assistance or suggestions when appropriate.
