Parents have described me as nurturing, patient, creative, dedicated, organized, and professional. I have worked with children for more than sixteen years and have loved every minute of it. It all began when I gave birth to my son 16 years ago. I wanted to become the best teacher he ever had. I not only read books about child development and parenting, but I took it a step further and decided to get experience in teaching. When he turned two I started to work at a daycare center. I stayed for five years, then moved on to the NYC Dept. of Education. I worked as a substitute teacher while I obtained my teaching certification and pursued a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. As a substitute I worked with children from kindergarten through eighth grade in all subjects. As an appointed teacher with the Dept. of Education, I worked as Read more a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for six years. During the summers, I was a camp counselor at the Riverdale Y for seven years (2008-2014). What started out as a love for my child, expanded to fourteen years of loving, honoring and teaching other people's children as if they were my own. In summary, my credentials are as follows: I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Syracuse University, a Master's Degree from City College of New York, a New York State Professional Teaching Certificate (birth-second grade), and CPR certification from American Heart Assoc. My most current positions: I have been babysitting 5 year old twin girls for a little over 2 years now; mostly afterschool and occasional evenings. I was a camp counselor for a 3 year old little boy that turned into occasional babysitting. Both parents are listed as my references. In addition, I have been babysitting a 12 month old who is now 18 months old. I watched her three times a week, but now she is in school, therefore I babysit occasionally. The parent will gladly give me a reference. I am energetic, articulate, and professional. I would love to work with a loving family that can appreciate and use my talents. Thank you Warmly, Hope
