Hello! I am Mary. I began caring for babies at a very young age (5) in my mother's home daycare. I began babysitting many of those children in their homes in the evenings when their parents went out while I was still in elementary school and through high school. I went to college for education and have a master's degree in education. I started working with special needs children in BOCES while still in college and I began working as a full-time teacher in 2000. I still do work as a teacher full-time. I have my own child who is 9. I am considering taking the summer off and would like to find some other children to enjoy our summer adventures with us while supplementing my income a bit. I am very flexible with my rate as I'd like to be able to either have children in my home with Read more my own child, or bring her along to yours. I'd love to find some active kiddos who'd love to be on the go and join us for summer fun. Summer should be fun. :) We love hiking and beach time! So, a parent who is looking for their children to get out of the house and enjoy those types of things as well as a little down time at home or at the libraries would be a great fit for us. My schedule is also quite flexible all summer and I'd be more than willing to be a fill-in taxi mom to camps and such. I am child-free on Saturdays and also available to work then. * I am comfortable with dogs (we have one) but allergic to cats. :(
