My name is Samantha and I really love working with kiddos! I have a four year degree from Kent State University in psychology, allowing me to have a better understanding of child development and adjustment. During the pursuit of my bachelor’s degree, I worked as a tutor and teaching assistant in addition to managing a research internship. My fascination with knowledge lead me back into pursuing neuroscience research, and my enjoyment of working and teaching children has continued to develop alongside my previous interest. I enjoy the process of learning through exploring and discovering interesting things; my goal is to spread this enjoyment of the process of learning by positively influencing the learning experience of those around me. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I dove into the field of mental health and began working with children with autism spectrum disorders. As a behavioral technician, I administered psychological and behavioral assessments Read more and monitored the progress of the children with which I worked. I assisted clients, ages two to 15 years old, in developing social and education skills such as learning colors, reading, writing, and encouraging appropriate play and communication skills. I am fully trained in applied behavioral analysis, which allows me to properly carry out behavior modifications in order to promote attentiveness, which will in turn allow to faster and more efficient progress. I hope to utilize my skills to assist and encourage learning and development of your children through promoting a healthy, safe, and beneficial environment. While I have worked with many children in an academic setting, I am ready to use my skills to assist individual families. As a nanny, I will put the requests of the parents at the forefront of my "to-do" list and ensure that the children are developing the skills the parents would like to see.
