I started caring for children when I was 16 and started working at the YMCA of Darke County in the babysitting room caring from children ages 6 weeks to 6 months. I worked there for nearly two and a half years. I decided to further my education and attended the Miami Valley Career Technology Center for early childhood education for one year. There the students ran a preschool for ages 3-5. I created lesson plans and snack plans and performed activities in the following classes: art, dramatic play, writing, language, math, and science. After graduation I started working as an in-home caregiver to a family with an 8 month old and 3 year old. I worked for them for five months. There I cared for the children, did activities, meal preparation, feeding the infant and putting down for naps, light housekeeeping, and so much more. I am CPR and first Read more aid certified. I would love to continue in this career choice!
