Hello, my name is Sarah, and I am graduating from the Ohio State University in May with a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Sciences. By the time I graduate, I will also have completed a first aid and CPR class. The main reason I became a caregiver is, of course, for the kids! They are the reason I love what I do! They are so eager to learn and full of energy, I love to be a part of that. I enjoy the creativity that comes along with caring for kids. I have so much fun doing crafts and playing games with them! I also cherish the relationships I have formed with the families I have cared for. I have spent the past year watching an infant room of a church during their service and I have babysat outside of that for many of the families I have Read more been acquainted with in the church. I feel like a part of each of their families and it has been so much fun to watch the kids grow over the past year. Before that, I spent a summer working at the Ohio State daycare, where I worked with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. I also spent a year working for AmeriCorps where I was placed in the Upper Arlington elementary schools and worked alongside the K-5 teachers to create service-learning opportunities (teaching strategies that integrate community service) for the students. I love exploring and helping kids learn through their environment and experiences. I have taken many classes on child development and have learned a lot about child-centered care. I focus on the child's needs and interests as much as I can and I try to guide children through the interactions I have with them. I love to watch them grow! Also, I did not include references on my profile, please request them from me if you are interested :)
