Janielle’s Bio

I have over ten years experience working with children and their families. I started my career at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base working with children ages 0-6. I created lesson plans, developed many games for children of all ages to play and was Wright-Patt certified in pre-school care. While there I was also a part-time nanny to a six-month-old boy. After Wright-Patt I moved to Beavercreek Christian Learning Center. While there, I was in charge of 14 sweet and sometimes salty three-year-olds. After BCLC, I moved to Korea to be a nanny to a military family with three beautiful girls. I have been a mother's helper and a I have lots of date night sitter experience. I am CPR and first aid certified.
My favorite game to play with little ones that are learning how to master their fine motor skills is "FLYING STRAWS." I am a frequent flyer of Michael's craft store and I am in love with Hobby Lobby. They have some GREAT crafting ideas.

When our second child developed severe reflux – the screaming for hours, choking, malcontent, strapped vertical to a wedge to sleep (if she’d sleep at all), held most minutes of the day (and few of those sitting down) variety – at a month old, my husband told me I should get some help. I was very resistant to the idea, maybe prideful (I don’t need help raising my children!), stubborn (I CAN and WILL do this), and frankly more than a little concerned about the quality of help available (I’m sure there are plenty of qualified nannies out there, but let’s face it, my beautiful baby was a challenge and though I love her more than life itself, there were moments I could imagine shaking her…I would NEVER do this, but think it, yeah…what would a stranger do in the face of “screaming baby hour 4”?) . Thankfully my infinitely wise husband went behind my back, filled out a profile on SitterCity and, and set up multiple interviews. I say thankfully because we met our future nanny, Janielle Czubak, and she was and is a blessing to our family.
As I said, we had multiple interviews, but Janielle’s resume was easily the most impressive, with experience in both infant and toddler care (did I mention we also have an adorable three year old son?) in educational, daycare, and residential settings. More than that, however, she had the perfect personality – she was nurturing, fun, silly when warranted, respectful but respected, and above all patient. Her calm demeanor had to have been tested during her time with us (nearly 7 months!), but you’d never know it. She answered the question of what she’d do in the face of a screaming baby – she’d smile, pat, rock endlessly, walk tirelessly, and call my screaming banshee a “chicken nugget” affectionately. Worries abated. I was able to confidently leave my baby girl in her care to spend quality time with our son (he didn’t just have to learn to share mommy with a new sister, this new sister was previously ALWAYS attached to mommy and more often than not, crying. That’s a tough adjustment for a sensitive little guy who would tear-up sympathetically with his little sister, certain she was in pain). It was wonderful to give him time away from his sister so that their time together was enjoyable. He is a great big brother and his sister practically worships him. I also enjoyed my time with my daughter more knowing that I could devote all my energy to her special needs without leaving my son on his own – he had a wonderful playmate in Janielle, who was able to give my “slow to warm up” son the time and space he needed to feel confident and comfortable. He looked forward to seeing her every day.
Janielle made our first year with our daughter the best one possible and really got us over the growing pains hump. If we could have, we’d have kept her forever, but are thrilled that we have a trusted friend to watch our kiddos for date nights (we’ve heard those exist) and special events in the future.
I unreservedly recommend Janielle Czubak.
