Hello! My name is Petra and I am a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with an honors degree in speech& hearing sciences, with a minor in studio art. I plan on realizing a career as a Speech Pathologist. I have babysat since I was 14 and I love children! The majority of my experience is with younger children--elementary age, preschool and infants--however I am comfortable meeting children of all ages. This past summer I taught at Stepping Stones Summer Art Camp for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and enriched a class of 15 children at a time. And whenever I can, I also volunteer for SOYAPS--a Special Olympics program for children with developmental disorders ranging from 3-6 years. I enjoy encoorporating arts and crafts, language, as well as reading, song and dance. I am an outdoor enthusiast so if the parents are comfortable I love taking the children to Read more parks--as well as nearby libraries and other children-focused places. Along this note, I limit television and video games to one hour. I'm also trying to improve my baking and love bringing the children in the kitchen to learn with me! I could go on, but essentially I just like to stay busy and explore upon a child's current interest while encouraging new experiences.
