I have worked with children for the past thirty years as a nanny or as a float teacher at the Child Development Center at OSU/COTC in Newark. I was in charge of the school age program at OSU. During the school year I had them before and after school only. In the summer I would plan, both, fun and learning activities for them. We went swimming, horseback riding, and did cake decorating, etc. I was there for three years when I went back to my first love of being a nanny. I enjoy the team work between the parents and myself in creating extremely happy, loving, and self - sufficient young people. I have worked for several families in the Central Ohio area on the average of two to three years each. Most of my experience is with the ages newborn through early childhood. I have been with my current Read more family for the last four and one half years. In terms of education, I was a music and elementary education major. I eventually switched my major to Elementary Education. I have my student teaching to do in order to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Elem. Ed. I did go to North American Nannies. I obtained my Certification from North American Nannies in 1987 to be a Professional Nanny. I do need to be re-certified in my Red Cross CPR and First Aid. I would obviously do that as soon as it fits my schedule. My husband and I moved to Newark a couple of years ago. I love being close to my family. In my spare time I love to spend time with my mother shopping and enjoying the various activities that my niece and nephew participate in i.e., baseball, hockey, cheerleading, and theater. I am definitely a sport fanatic! I love the Buckeyes! I also like to watch the Columbus Blue Jackets. I would love to work for a family that is also interested in sports. There is so much value in team sports for young children and I would like to help encourage the children in my care to participate on some type of team, if that is their desire.
