With two younger siblings, babysitting becomes a part of your life at a certain age. When I turned twelve not only was I babysitting for my own siblings but also for a family friend who did not trust their oldest son to watch over the kids. Most of the time that meant I was watching three children, two girls and a boy ranging from 6-10 and sometimes my siblings would come over as well so there was an additional 10 year old girl and a 6 year old boy as well. I continued babysitting for this family on and off for the next five years until I got a more consistent fast food job. Since coming to college my work life has drastically changed, this past summer not only did I babysit for one family but five. I went home to a group of mothers who all worked together and Read more had heard about me from the woman I babysat for in the beginning! Not only was I extremely flattered, I was also extremely excited, I am currently looking into elementary education and enjoy being with children much more than I would have at some fast food chain summer job. So one by one I met the families and slowly became the babysitter for a total of 11 amazing kids! The most exciting part was that no family was the same and the kids' ages ranged all the way from six months up to 8 years old! An amazing aspect of it to me is that after three months with all of these kids I have not been deterred from my dream of having a big family and one day hopefully having four to six little babies of my own. I think kids are amazing with their creativity and imaginations, I only hope to accommodate that in what ever way they choose to express it whether it be video games, board games, arts & crafts, or even sports, I can honestly say I'm up for anything!
